Class of 2021 and 2022

This is the last month to be able to complete #2 and #4 tasks. The College Board is awarding $25 MILLION in scholarships over the next five years, beginning with the class of 2020. Eligibility requirements: Senior; Pell-eligible; US Citizen, national, or permanent resident; minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.3; from at least one of the following ethnicities: African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian/Pacific Islander, and/or Hispanic American; attend 4-year college/university

The College Board has joined Telemundo to launch College Board and Telemundo Academy Triunfadores, a joint public campaign to guide Spanish-speaking families through the college planning process and help students earn college scholarships. Click here for details.

The Danniel J. Petro Scholarships in Partnership with the West Orange Foundation

This scholarship opportunity is provided through the West Orange Foundation, Inc. (WOF) and administrated by the West Orange Chamber of Commerce (WOCC). The scholarship fund was established to make it possible for eligible students from local high schools to further their education at Valencia College (any campus), Orange Technical College, or the University of Central Florida. The West Orange Foundation is able to fund the scholarships through the generous contributions of the Petro Family Foundation.

In order to qualify eligible senior students must:

-have a current GPA of 2.75 (either weighted or unweighted)

-apply to attend either Valencia, UCF or Orange Technical Colleges

Up to several student recipients may be awarded $1000 scholarships; the number of recipients will be dependent upon the amount of money available in the scholarship fund at the time of the award. Two student recipients will be awarded $2500 scholarships from the Petro Family Foundation.

The 2021 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are open for submissions! Creative teens can submit work in 28 categories of art and writing for the chance to receive up to $10,000 in scholarships. Click here to get started!

Valencia is accepting applications from current seniors for their Bridges to Success Summer Program now until January 28! Some of the requirements to be considered are:

- Must be a resident of Orange or Osceola County

- Must have a minimum 2.75 GPA

- Must submit FAFSA and demonstrate financial need

Upon successful completion of the summer program students will become a Bridges to Success Achievers Scholar in the fall and receive an award that covers up to the full cost of attendance at Valencia.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is offering a free, bilingual program designed to help middle and high school students and their parents prepare, plan, and pay for college. Breakout sessions include preparing for and applying for college, choosing a college, writing a personal statement, and more. Students and parents can choose to receive this information in English or Spanish.

The College Camp is taking place November 21, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Subject-matter experts will deliver the content and will be joined by Admissions and Financial Aid representatives from various universities.
