We will be hosting an ECG Only event on Wednesday April 16th from 5pm-7pm in the gym locker rooms. This will be the only ECG Event at WO before school lets out. Every student that wants to participate in a sport, Dance, Marching Band or ROTC must have one ECG completed for the 4 years of high school participation. For any incoming freshman, the ECG must be on or after 04/01/2025 for it to be used for their 4 years of high school.
Parents can view the full testing calendar by visiting the West Orange High School website and clicking on the Students tab, then selecting State Testing.
This adjusted bell schedule will be followed by all students (not just Seniors).
Seniors....Before you know it, it will be time for Senior Exams and the Florida Civil Literacy Exam (FCLE). The expectation is that all Seniors will take the FCLE, however, it is not a graduation requirement. If you take it and pass it now while in high school, you will not have to take it again when you are in college as it IS a requirement for college graduation.
The Senior Exam schedule is below so that you can use it as a guide to sign up for a time slot for the FCLE test. We will be on block schedule April 23rd-25th for Senior Exams and FCLE. When you are choosing a time slot for the FCLE on the Signup Genius, make sure it is not during a time that you should be taking a final exam. If you are not sure if your class is taking a CFE then double-check with your teacher before doing the Sign-up Genius.

Thank you to all who participated in and attended our first Family Literacy Night! We had a great evening listening to talented students share stories and poetry, exploring the White Rose book fair, and visiting with Orange County Library System! Mrs. Wallner provided delicious refreshments and the perfect theme, Spring into Literacy.
If you don’t already have a library card through OCLS, you can visit OCLS.org/signup. There are many great teen programs and volunteer opportunities available through OCLS. More information can be found at OCLS.org/teens

Per Florida Statutes, the new book purchasing process must allow for stakeholder input, meaning all students, faculty, staff, and community members must have access to the titles we are looking to purchase. Below are lists of books that we are looking to add to our Media Center at West Orange High School. If you review the lists and have concerns with a certain title/title, please let us know as soon as possible by contacting Ms. Wallner at shirley.wallner@ocps.net. Thank you for your input.
The following list of books may be added to West Orange High School Library. We are allowing our stakeholders the opportunity to review the list. The list can be found here.
The National Honor Society has resumed tutoring for the 2nd semester. Help is available in all subjects on Tuesdays and Thursdays during A & B Lunches and Wednesdays after school.
